A fast-growing private equity firm is seeking a Pre-MBA Associate to join its Washington, DC team. The firm focuses on partnering with software and technology-enabled businesses, helping management teams scale through operational improvements, strategic acquisitions, and growth initiatives. The team combines operational, consulting, and investment expertise to drive value creation across its portfolio.
This role provides exposure to high-impact deals and operational projects across multiple tech sectors, offering experience in both investment execution and portfolio management.
Responsibilities
Support deal sourcing and execution for software and tech-enabled business acquisitions, including market research, target screening, financial modeling, and valuation
Lead analytical workstreams through diligence, deal structuring, and closing
Collaborate with portfolio management and leadership teams to optimize growth, performance, and product/technology strategy
Conduct industry research and maintain intelligence on emerging SaaS, enterprise software, and tech-enabled service trends
Prepare investment committee materials and participate in key deal discussions
Contribute to operational initiatives across multiple tech portfolio companies
Requirements
2–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate development
Strong technical foundation in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution
Hands-on, self-starter mentality with comfort in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate directly with senior partners and operators
Interest in scaling technology businesses and improving operational performance
Ability to manage multiple live deals and portfolio initiatives simultaneously
Software or technology industry experience preferred
