OVERVIEW The Operations Lead is a key member of the store leadership team responsible for driving profitability and operational efficiency. The position works closely with the Operations & Visual Manager to initiate, delegate, and provide feedback to the team, ensuring optimal results across all store operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES Operations Leader
Lead & execute inventory management processes, maximizing inventory accuracy and reducing shrink.
Investigate and root cause inventory accuracy issues, partnering with the General Manager to address process or system gaps.
Manage key operational functions including shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery, intra‑day sales floor replenishment, floor set updates, and supply management.
Champion strong visual standards for the sales floor.
Support a safe work environment and efficient operation through strong stockroom standards and processes.
Business Leader
Partner with Operations & Visual Manager to manage reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities.
Demonstrate strong business acumen by leveraging metrics to support business‑driving strategies.
Move dynamically on the retail floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests.
People Leader
Lead by example and inspire staff in daily operations and guest experience.
Directly oversee Operations Associates, responsible for recruitment and development of talent.
Use company performance tools to evaluate each Operations Associate and provide constant feedback to drive individual growth and improvement in partnership with the store leader.
Business Partner
Collaborate with Visual Lead to ensure cross‑functional training.
Collaborate with Sales & Service Lead to ensure the business is well‑executed.
Execute company‑level operations‑focused directives, projects and initiatives in partnership with Operations & Visual Manager (e.g., from the SCC).
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of prior work experience in a client‑centric, sales environment.
Proven leadership capabilities demonstrating excellent decision making.
Values feedback, receptive to receiving feedback and eager to provide.
High energy, upbeat and enthusiastic with the ability to integrate fun and work.
Self‑motivated with a desire to achieve results and excel individually and as a team.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Aligns with and embodies ALO’s guiding principles.
Job Level: Associate.
WORK HOURS & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS The Lead role is full‑time (32–40 hours per week). Employees must have open availability and work variable shifts, including peak days and weekends. All employees are expected to work during the company’s blackout period from the week of American Thanksgiving (including Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend) through the 1st week of January.

COMPENSATION The Company’s Lead base pay ranges from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour in Washington, DC. Leads are eligible to participate in the Company’s Monthly Store Incentive bonus program, which may increase total compensation. Other rewards include clothing allowance, employee discount, 401(k), competitive medical, dental, and vision plans, commuter benefits, and ALO Wellness Club.
