Job Title
SAP SD Consultant / Analyst (Contract) – San Jose, CA
Pay Range: $70/hr - $75/hr
Job Description The SAP SD Consultant is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) module. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to analyze and document existing business processes, identify gaps, and design effective to-be solutions. The consultant will manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of SAP SD implementations from blueprinting and configuration to go‑live and post‑implementation support.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively and independently to map and document As‑Is business process flows.
Lead cross‑functional efforts to identify existing gaps and potential process or system improvements.
Identify, document, and propose To‑Be process solutions.
Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD/FRD) and user acceptance test (UAT) scripts.
Identify key issues across a broad range of areas and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
Design, configure, and customize the SAP SD module to align with business needs.
Configure key functionalities such as sales order processing, pricing, billing, shipping, and credit management.
Set up and maintain master data including customer and material master data.
Configure and manage pricing procedures, condition types, and access sequences.
Ensure seamless integration of SD with other SAP modules like MM, FI, and PP.
Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Develop and execute unit, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
Analyze and resolve software and system issues, coordinating with clients as needed.
Perform system upgrades and enhancements to improve functionalities.
Provide end‑user support and maintain detailed documentation including configuration guides and user manuals.
Conduct user training sessions and promote best practices.
Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
Stay current with SAP advancements and industry trends.
Experience
Proven experience as an SAP SD Consultant with hands‑on involvement in at least one full‑cycle SAP implementation.
Experience in Supply Chain Management with strong functional knowledge of procurement (P2P) and order‑to‑cash (O2C) processes.
Strong experience in SAP SD and MM modules.
Understanding of inbound/outbound EDI integrations to/from SAP in P2P flows.
Strong experience in requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, and gap analysis.
Experience writing simple to moderately complex SQL queries.
Skills
In‑depth knowledge of SAP SD functionalities and configuration.
Proficiency in Sales Order Management, Pricing, Billing, Shipping & Logistics Execution, and Credit Management.
Strong understanding of integration points with SAP FI and MM modules.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Basic knowledge of ABAP debugging is a plus.
Qualification & Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
