Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: to build, design, code, consult, think along with clients, sell, make markets, invent, and collaborate. We're not just doing something better; we aim to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, let’s talk.
Your Role and Responsibilities As a Developer at IBM, you’ll get to work on the systems driving the quantum revolution and the AI era. Join our team of creators—people who help move IBM forward by using imagination to envision solutions and curiosity to experiment with new ideas. Your work will support customers in making better decisions faster on trusted platforms. We are seeking Hardware Development Engineers to develop, test, and provide customer support for hardware, firmware, and semiconductors that underpin our industry‑leading products. The role involves:
Design for Test (DFT) and verification
Signal integrity, power integrity, and analysis
Product and packaging reliability qualification
Materials analysis and characterization
Mechanical design, modeling and technology integration
Printed circuit board physical design and layout
Thermal design and testing
Voltage regulation and power delivery
Performance modeling
Processor and system test and validation
Processor, component, and system characterization
Customer and field engineering support
Firmware architecture, development, and test failure analysis
Product quality, assurance, specification and analytics
Basic knowledge of computer hardware and architecture (FPGAs, RISC‑V, ARM, MIPS), programming languages (C/C++/C#, Python, or Java), hardware description languages (RTL/VHDL/Verilog), and circuit simulation tools (SPICE)
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Optics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related majors.
Prior (project or internship) experience in computer hardware or testing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Passion for technology and engineering.
