Introduction
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) serves as one of the largest revenue sources for the State of Maryland, supporting important state programs and services including education, public health and safety, human resources and the environment. In addition to generating revenue from the sale of lottery products, the MLGCA is also responsible for the oversight of the state's casino gaming program, providing direction and guidance to its casino partners on financial, security, regulatory and licensing procedures for the facilities. The Agency also regulates Sports Wagering, Daily Fantasy Sports and Electronic Bingo, as well as Instant Ticket Lottery Machines, which are located at almost 90 Veteran's posts. Gaming in Maryland is a dynamic and growing business that operates around the clock, 365 days of the year.

Position Duties Gaming accountant supervisor II is the supervisory level of advanced accounting work in the area of video lottery terminals, table games, sports wagering and fantasy competition accounting. Employees in this classification supervise Accountant Advanced employees.
Key Responsibilities
Key journal entries (MS Dynamics and FMIS) as needed.
Initial logging of gaming escrow receipts.
Annual VLT assessments and monthly contact with DHMH.
Review and disbursement of liability offsets (i.e., VEPs) received from ALL gaming facilities. (ALL= Casinos, Sports Wagering and Fantasy).
Review and disbursement of expired prizes received from ALL gaming facilities.
Ensure that gaming funds (e.g., licensing, tax revenue, etc.) have been received and make appropriate entries to gaming escrow balances as needed.
Assist with collection efforts for gaming fines and violations in coordination with Gaming and Accounts Receivable personnel.
Perform or review maintenance of weekly spreadsheet of all gross terminal revenue and table game revenue for weekly submission to various entities (external and internal to the Agency, including DBM and BRE).
Maintain ALL Gaming revenue spreadsheets and reconcile to funds received.
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying. Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing. Experience:
Five years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles to include three years performing advanced duties in the areas of cost accounting, systems accounting, federal fund accounting, or bond and loan accounting.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
One year of supervisory experience.
One year of experience utilizing Workday.
Experience utilizing Excel.
Experience in Lottery and / or Gaming.
