Job Description:

UF Health Central Florida, formerly Central Florida Health, is an award‑winning, locally owned, not‑for‑profit health care system. The system provides inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health The Villages Hospital and UF Health Leesburg Hospital, inpatient rehabilitation at UF Health The Villages Rehabilitation Hospital, adult inpatient psychiatric services at the UF Health Leesburg Hospital Senior Behavioral Health Center, and diagnostic laboratory services at several locations.

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.

Review incoming reports (labs, X‑rays, EKGs) and follow up promptly.

Prescribe pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate.

Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.

May manage daily operations of a specific medical program or patient care unit.

Direct and coordinate patient‑care activities of nursing and support staff as required.

Follow departmental policies, procedures, quality‑improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.

Participate in health‑promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate to the position.

Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested.

Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Licensed to practice medicine in Florida (Chapter 458, Florida Statutes) and four years of appropriate experience; completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Specialty license or certification; board‑certified or board‑eligible in a specified area of medical specialty; licensure in Florida and Federal DEA certification.
