Information Technology Specialist II (S II), Cloud System Engineer
Responsible for leadership and master-level expertise in managing, supporting, and administering complex cloud enterprise services for the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Provides expert leadership to teams within the Business Operations Technology Services Division (BOTSD) and oversees system engineering, architecture, design, configuration, and administration of all aspects of centralized cloud services.
Responsibilities
Lead and provide expert guidance to various teams within BOTSD.
Design, configure, and administer centralized cloud services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting, State Office 365 government cloud services, public cloud infrastructure, and collaboration tools.
Implement and support cloud services and systems at multiple server instances across the department.
Develop and maintain IT security solutions such as Identity Access Management (IAM), Multifactor Authentication (MFA), Active Directory (AD) services, and email messaging.
Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to deliver program, technical, functional, and business solutions.
Provide subject matter expertise on program management, technical, and business processes.
Qualifications
Master level knowledge, skills, and abilities in centralized enterprise systems and applications.
Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure/Entra, Office 365, and other government cloud services.
Proficiency in Identity Access Management (IAM), Multifactor Authentication (MFA), Active Directory (AD), and email messaging services.
Experience managing multiple cloud server instances and providing enterprise-level support.
Minimum education and experience specified in the Classification Specification.
Strong communication skills and the ability to document qualifications in writing.
Well‑versed with security protocols, incident‑response, and governance standards.
Statement of Qualifications
Years of experience maintaining and supporting Microsoft Active Directory in an enterprise environment.
Years of experience with Microsoft Azure/Entra and Office 365.
Years of experience with Copilot and other Generative AI tools.
