Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and supervise Superintendents/Site Supervision, Field Engineering, other support organizations (Safety, Quality, Project Controls, etc.) on project to support work execution to meet budget and schedule. You will coordinate craft professional activities and work schedules, and subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive and comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets. You will coordinate with other Area Managers to ensure interfaces are managed and field issues are resolved. This position will be assigned to the Kemmerer Unit 1 Nuclear Island. You will be responsible for coordination and schedule management of the construction of the Nuclear Island buildings, including the interfaces with the Energy Island and balance of works.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership / Supervision
Supervises and coordinates craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct Hire)
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct Hire)
Management and supervision of Subcontractors.
Planning / Productivity
Manages project cost and schedule performance.
Determines workforce requirements.
Coordinates established area operational plans.
Tools, Materials & Equipment
Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site.
Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.
Coordinates with Procurement and Project Controls teams to ensure supply of equipment and materials meets project schedule.
Safety & Quality
Champion of the requirements of the Bechtel Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Core Processes and Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” philosophy.
Must have knowledge and understanding of Bechtel's Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) or Nuclear Work Process Procedures (NWPPs).
Technical
Works with Superintendents, Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.
Manages compliant implementation of the change control process including ensuring trends are developed for all subproject impacts and opportunities.
Keeps senior project management informed of project status, highlighting deviations from plans and anticipating and escalating potential problem areas.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Must have knowledge of Bechtel organization, policies, procedures, and programs including QA and Safety.
A high level of interpersonal skills including excellent oral, written, and graphic communication and presentation skills.
Ability to conduct effective meetings. Must have experience working on a Nuclear Project as a Superintendent, Subcontract Technical Representative, or Field Engineer.
Technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction techniques, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
Overall knowledge of industry Engineering, Procurement, and Construction work practices.
Business and commercial awareness including cash flow management, risk, and contingency analysis for their subproject.
