Ambiorix is a new venture from the team behind Ectosense, a sleep-diagnostics company acquired in 2021 by ResMed (NYSE: RMD). After several years at ResMed, we’re applying that experience to build an organization dedicated to delivering well-engineered diagnostic devices at competitive prices.

Our aim is to broaden access to high-quality diagnostics by improving efficiency and lowering cost without compromising performance. By the end of 2027, we target the capacity to test 100,000 patients per Ambiorix employee.

Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art diagnostic medical devices from prototypes to mass production
  • Create schematic designs, perform PCB layout, and collaborate with manufacturing partners for fabrication and assembly
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers and manufacturing teams for rapid prototyping, design iterations, and troubleshooting production issues
  • Support documentation and verification efforts for FDA, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and EMC/ESD compliance

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experiencewith circuit design, PCB layout (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar), and embedded hardware development
  • Passion for hardware products
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Highly creative and autonomous

Nice to have

  • Experience writing firmware in C
  • Experience with communication protocols such as BLE
  • Experience with mass production processes
  • Experience with low-power, battery-operated devices
  • Experience with regulations such as ISO 13485 andIEC 60601
