Base pay range $63,403.00/yr – $90,424.00/yr

Job Summary The Education Specialist is responsible for providing high‑quality instruction to students with varying disabilities. Responsibilities cover implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the IEPs; data‑driven decision making; and ensuring a safe & optimal learning environment for all.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, maintain & monitor IEPs, quarterly reports, & progress monitoring to measure goals.
Collect & report progress monitoring data for all student goals.
Conduct IEP meetings within mandated timelines.
Make data‑driven instructional decisions to improve student outcomes.
Complete Quarterly Progress Reports.
Complete mandatory reporting as required by state & federal guidelines.
Complete all special education paperwork accurately per regulations, on time.
Develop & monitor appropriate transition plans for transition‑age students.
Serve as liaison & resource to SELPA’s.
Adapt lesson purpose‑to implement I‑EP goals & meet sp‑needs.
Advise parents/legal guardian student progress. to support teacher goal & home environment methods.
Assess student’s social needs & academic needs for evaluation & placement.
Collaborate with staff, agencies & community partners to maximize outcomes.
Direct instructional assistants, volunteers & aides for effective school program.
Instruct Sp. students in ided course‑of‑study.
Manage student behaviour for safe, optimal environment.
Prepare teaching materials & reports for lesson‑plan & doc student progress.
Report incidents to maintain personal safety & positive learn env.
Assist others for support in task‑completion.
Participate in various meetings for information & credential requirements.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
Valid California Teaching Credential – Special Ed (Mild/Moderate) Required.
Appropriate certification for teaching English L‑Learners.
Three or more yrs’ experience with special‑needs students.
Required Knowledge, skills & abilities
Motivate students, communicate w/varied audiences & lead support.
Know ed‑learning methods, ed‑law, curr curriculum, & laws.
Capable stand walk long periods, keep records, co‑operate w/ staff, meet sched‑deadlines.
Physical Abilities
Hear & speak to lead group training, ex‑info inter‑personally & electronically.
Read printed material & compute screens.
Understand speech at normal levels.
Hand dexterity to operate keyboard & office gear.
Kneel, bend & rec overhead above shoulder & horizontally & store files.
Clim stairs, walk, sit prolonged periods. Lift & carry 10 lbs.”

Working Conditions
Office: constant interruptions.
Outdoor: drive/vis school sites/meet shops
Classroom: constant interruptions.
