Job Summary & Qualifications The Mental Health Professional III delivers exceptional psychiatric treatment. Responsibilities include evaluations, psycho‑education, group activities, treatment planning, discharge planning, and therapeutic counseling in one‑on‑one, family and group settings.
Responsibilities
Maintain effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum of care providers.
Use professional communication skills to interact with peers, staff, patients, and families and resolve conflicts.
Maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients, and families.
Provide education and guidance on state commitment processes, abuse reporting, duty to warn, guardianship, and hospital codes.
Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, team members, payer representatives, and others regarding behavioral services.
Coach and assist in training new staff/interns; participate in developing department goals and clinical programming.
Perform utilization review and participate in process and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
MSW or Master’s in Behavioral Science (psychology, counseling, social work, marriage & family therapy) or related field.
Licensure in a Behavioral Health Discipline (Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist).
Maintain BLS certification during employment.
Complete Crisis Prevention Certification training within 6 months of hire and maintain certification.
