Job Description
Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, including exams and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks such as clerical duties, answering phones, and maintaining the physicians' schedule. Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate. Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures. Prepare and stock exam / treatment rooms and order supplies as needed. Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested. Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician. Maintain all exam / treatment room disinfection protocols. Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse / pharmacist. Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN. Inform physician of patient reschedules and no-shows. Perform other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception, as requested by a supervisor or physician. Essential Skills
Rooming patients and patient care. Current CPR Certification is required. 1-3 years of experience in a patient care setting preferred, oncology experience helpful. Qualifications (Need at least ONE of the below)
Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with 1-year direct care experience. Work Environment
The clinic is open Monday to Friday, from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm, with start times at 8 : 00 am or 8 : 30 am (7 : 30 am on occasion, but not required). The role involves rooming 20-25 patients per day. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
