Position Summary Responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting for the plant, equipment and the related areas of the concrete plant.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Independently determine the need and perform basic repair, service and related work on mechanical, plumbing, electrical and production equipment.

Ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment and operating conditions of the concrete plant.

Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and adjustments of selected equipment and fixtures, as well as operational testing and verification to specific standards.

Operate a front‑end loader or forklift according to current need.

Assure all Lockout/Tagout programs and policies for Ready Mixed are implemented and maintained, while assuring personnel follow safe lockout/tagout procedures.

Assure SDS forms are maintained and up to date for accurate information and immediate review.

Perform multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to details.

Use various hand tools and test equipment periodically to analyze, evaluate and correct malfunctions with various systems, devices and/or instruments.

Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.

Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements and Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Must have previous experience operating construction machinery or equipment—forklift, pallet loaders, lift truck and a front‑end loader.

Must be mechanically inclined with previous experience troubleshooting machinery and equipment.

Forklift, Loader, Respirator certifications helpful.

Must be capable of completing requirements of the Company certification programs and passing the test in a reasonable period of time.

Must be able to pass a respiratory function test for working in confined areas. Valid NE driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance plan.

Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee may regularly climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl into some possible tight environments, and is able to talk, hear, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee will be required to climb a ladder to 110 feet. Direct frontal reaching is required while the employee may be required to lift 50 pounds to waist height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees are required to wear protective safety gear and eye protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, may be extreme hot or cold. Must wear any protective devices as required by the company safety policies relating to the assignment being performed. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This is a year‑round job. Hours may vary based on daily production requirements and emergency requirements. Occasional weekend work will be required. Must be reliable and have a good attendance record. This is a tobacco‑free campus.
