Role Overview As a Senior Backend Engineer at Lumenalta, you will design and implement robust backend systems, ensuring our applications are secure, scalable, and efficient. You will work closely with DevOps and frontend teams to deliver high-performance applications that leverage AWS cloud services and Kubernetes. Your role also involves managing infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CDK and monitoring systems with tools like Grafana and Loki.
Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Python and integrate with cloud services on AWS.
Design and deploy AWS infrastructure, leveraging services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3, with emphasis on scalability and security.
Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring proper scaling, load balancing, and orchestration.
Use Terraform or AWS CDK to automate infrastructure management for repeatable and efficient provisioning.
Implement monitoring and logging solutions with Grafana and Loki to ensure system reliability and performance.
Collaborate with DevOps, frontend, and product teams to deliver cohesive, scalable, and secure applications.
Automate workflows and improve infrastructure and application performance to achieve low latency and high availability.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in backend development, focusing on cloud-native applications.
Proficiency in Python for backend services and scripting.
Extensive experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Familiarity with Grafana and Loki for monitoring and logging.
Proven experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native applications.
Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
