South Central Family Health Center The Dental Assistant role at South Central Family Health Center is a full-time, non-exempt position. The applicant will work under the supervision of a licensed dentist and will support a range of dental procedures in a fast-paced, caring environment. Base Salary $45,760.00/yr – $47,840.00/yr Responsibilities Prepare patients and disinfect instruments, set up trays, and assist the dentist during procedures. Welcome, comfort, position, and drape patients for dental treatment. Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. Ensure operation of dental equipment by performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs when needed. Record treatment information in patient records. Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients. Assist the dentist in managing medical or dental emergencies. Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist. Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory. Qualifications and Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program. Dental Assistant Certificate. Current BLS Certification. Experience 1 to 3 years of dental assistant experience. Training at an accredited dental assisting program. 0 to 2.5 years of front and back‑office dental experience. Skills and Abilities Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Strong charting and documentation skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills. Effective verbal and written communication in English.
