Job Details Location: Indianapolis, IN. Salary: $150,000 - $175,000 per year. This role is fully onsite in Indianapolis and oversees a regional portfolio consisting of two operating companies generating approximately $25–$35M in combined revenue.
About Us A fast-growing, private equity backed mechanical services organization is seeking a Regional Controller to lead finance for its Indiana operations. The company provides mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing services across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and residential facilities. Founded in recent years, the organization has expanded rapidly through organic growth and multiple acquisitions and now employs more than 500 team members across several states. With continued expansion ahead and strong private equity backing, this role plays a critical part in shaping the regional finance structure.

Responsibilities
Lead the regional accounting and finance function for two operating companies (combined approximately $25–$35M in revenue)
Spend substantial time on project accounting, job costing, labor rates, profitability analysis and month‑end close
Oversee financial statements, reporting, forecasting and cash management for the Indiana region
Partner closely with local GMs on pricing, WIP, project performance and decisions that impact margin
Develop and refine labor rate strategies, cost structures and project financial visibility
Guide, mentor and oversee 2–3 region‑based finance team members
Support process improvement and consistency across multiple operating companies
Assist with integration work as acquisitions are added to the platform
Serve as a key business partner in a candid, blue‑collar, operationally‑focused environment
Qualifications
8–10+ years of progressive finance or accounting leadership within construction, mechanical services or other project‑based environments
Extensive job costing, WIP, labor rate and project profitability experience
Strong operational mindset with the ability to engage and influence field leaders
Confident communicator comfortable in a direct, straightforward culture
HR or people‑leadership exposure is a plus
Hands‑on, process‑building mindset well‑suited for a fast‑growing PE‑backed business
