Norton Heart & Vascular Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a fellowship-trained or fellowship-eligible advanced heart failure cardiologist to join its expanding program. The candidate will join our Advanced Heart Failure & Recovery Program, a multidisciplinary team of over 50 professionals, including board-certified heart failure cardiologists, advanced practice providers, surgeons, nurses, and coordinators, with an average of 15 years of experience in heart failure care. Our program emphasizes a team-based, patient-centered approach to heart failure management, supported by dedicated hospital leadership and extensive clinical resources. Responsibilities
Manage patients with both preserved and reduced systolic heart failure Risk-stratify patients for disease management, medical therapy, or referral for advanced surgical options such as LVAD or heart transplantation Manage cardiac devices, including ICDs and CRTs Utilize heart failure monitoring tools like CardioMEMS, ReDS vest, and LifeVest Perform right heart catheterizations and endomyocardial biopsies Support mechanical circulatory support, including ECMO Collaborate on initiatives to reduce readmissions and improve post-acute care Support VAD and transplant patients pre- and post-operation in conjunction with UK HealthCare Gill Heart & Vascular Institute Work with Norton Children’s Heart Institute on congenital heart disease and pediatric transplant support Participate in research studies related to heart failure and transplant Provide telecardiology services Work within an advanced practice provider first call structure Requirements
