This position is for the FMLH Operating Room - Cardio Thoracic and Vascular, Transplant Surgeries.
Job Summary: Responsible for assessing learning needs and performance/competence of staff in assigned specialty clinical areas. Collaborates with stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and evaluate education using best evidence to meet staff needs, including onboarding, competency, regulatory education, professional development, and just-in-time training. Acts as a partner, leader, facilitator, instructor, subject matter expert, change agent, mentor, consultant, and advocate. Partners with System Educator-RN to develop specialty-area education and deploys Froedtert Health system programming at the department level. Teaches classes and courses as assigned. This role is adapted from the ANPD Scope and Standards of Practice 3rd Edition (2016). Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Minimum three years of recent clinical practice as a Registered Nurse, required.
Experience in leadership roles (e.g., Preceptor, Charge RN), required.
Experience applying adult learning principles and curriculum design, preferred.
Experience in clinical precepting or training, preferred.
Experience with relevant surgeries highly desired.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required.
Master's Degree in Nursing (preferably in Education, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field), preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft applications and computer skills, required.
Licensure:
Current Wisconsin RN license or multi-state license via NLC, required.
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent, required within 90 days.
Nursing Professional Development certification or Master's in Nursing Education/related field, required within 3 years of hire.
