Minneapolis Shelter Veterinarian
Provide veterinarian services for animals that are located at the shelter and therefore under the care and responsibility of Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC) Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Examine, diagnose and provide routine and emergency treatment to animals at MACC, including vaccination and prescription of controlled substances, coordination of lab work, documentation and observation of treatments. • Provide sterilization and other necessary surgery to animals at MACC. • Prepare specimens for rabies, necropsies, and other disease/parasitic testing. • Help to ensure and maintain general health of facility for live-in animals. • Prepare investigative reports as needed, including forensic investigation and/or reporting for animal cruelty, and provide expert testimony. • Provide the euthanasia of animals as identified by shelter management
