Overview:
An established aerospace manufacturer in San Diego is seeking experienced CNC Set-Up Machinists for full-time, direct hire opportunities. This role offers the chance to work with precision components in a clean, organized shop supporting aerospace and defense applications.
If you're a detail-oriented machinist with a strong background in set-ups and tight-tolerance work, this is a great opportunity to join a long-term, stable team.
Key Responsibilities: Set up CNC mills or lathes (multi-axis experience preferred) Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions Select appropriate tooling and set machine offsets Perform first article inspections and make in-process adjustments Collaborate with programmers and quality inspectors to resolve production issues Maintain compliance with AS9100/ISO quality standards Work with a variety of materials, including aluminum, titanium, and composite alloys Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience setting up CNC machines in a manufacturing environment (aerospace strongly preferred) Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, height gages, and indicators Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation Capable of working independently and troubleshooting set-up issues Experience with thin-wall or composite machining is a plus Schedule Options: 1st Shift:
~6:00 AM - 2:30 PM 2nd Shift:
