Inpatient Facility-Based Hims Coding Quality Associate
This position is a quality role within the Inpatient Facility Coding department, requiring proficiency in coding and recent hospital facility coding experience. The role is task-production-oriented, ensuring quality in coding and focusing on DRG and PCS coding, denials, and audits. The position is fully remote and available in the following states: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI & WY. In this role, you will: Provide guidance on coding and billing, utilizing coding and billing guidelines. Review medical records and perform audits to ensure accurate coding for proper reimbursement. Assist with maintaining system-wide consistency in coding practices and ethical coding compliance. Act as a knowledge resource for ancillary clinical departments, patient financial services, and revenue integrity analysts. Perform ongoing audits/reviews of medical records to ensure proper diagnostic and procedure code assignments. Maintain current knowledge of coding regulatory updates and software used for coding. May code inpatient and outpatient records as needed. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent experience, 5 years of current and progressively responsible coding experience, and a qualified coding certification in an active status with the American Health Information Management Association or American Academy of Professional Coders. Preferred qualifications include additional related education and/or experience.
