$190,000 – $210,000 We are seeking an experienced
DevOps Engineer
to support a mission-critical federal program with a focus on enabling secure, rapid, and stable deployment of enterprise software systems. This role involves engineering and managing DevOps pipelines, containerized environments, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within secure, high-demand architectures. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD automation, and Agile DevOps methodologies. Primary Responsibilities: Collaborate with Chief Engineers and development teams to integrate DevOps best practices and automation strategies across software lifecycles. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud-based systems using Terraform and other tools. Containerize Java and Python applications using Docker/Podman and deploy to Kubernetes environments with Helm. Engineer cost-efficient AWS environments (e.g., EKS, Lambda, EMR) incorporating autoscaling, scheduling, and high-availability strategies. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated, secure, and version-controlled deployments using Git and Jenkins. Embed security and compliance checks within build pipelines; collaborate with ISSEs on integrating cybersecurity tools. Document processes and updates in accordance with Agile methodologies and DevOps governance frameworks. Facilitate technical exchange meetings to establish and maintain aligned DevOps requirements across multiple stakeholders. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 4–7 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a strong background in: Kubernetes and Helm Docker and/or Podman containerization AWS services (EKS, Lambda, EMR, ECR, VPC) Terraform for cloud infrastructure automation Hands-on experience developing automation for secure deployment pipelines and managing code versioning. Experience with infrastructure and configuration scripting to support hybrid/multi-cloud environments. Must be available to work full-time on-site in Herndon/Chantilly, VA. Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required at the time of application. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Packer and AWS AMI automation. Familiarity with Database ORM tools such as Flyway. Expertise in CI/CD pipeline automation and testing (Git, Jenkins). Proven track record of implementing secure DevOps processes in mission-sensitive environments. Understanding of secure cloud environment engineering and compliance principles. Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
