As a Web Developer at Archetype SC, youll help create modern, responsive websites to meet a wide range of client needs. Youll collaborate with a team to build and maintain custom WordPress solutions. From unique plugin development to seamless front-end implementation, your work will have a direct impact on projects across industries.
In this role, youll primarily work with PHP, WordPress, and front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You may also have an opportunity to learn new tools, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to internal innovation projects to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain custom WordPress sites, themes, and plugins in PHP. Translate Figma or Adobe XD designs into responsive, accessible websites. Collaborate with UX, design, and content teams to bring ideas to life. Troubleshoot and resolve layout bugs, plugin conflicts, and performance issues. Implement third-party APIs and integrations. Apply current best practices for performance, security, and SEO.
Required Qualifications
1+ years of professional experience developing custom WordPress sites and plugins (agency experience strongly preferred) Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL. Fundamental understanding of PHP and Object-oriented programming. Knowledge of MySQL database structures and complex query building. Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows. Ability to create custom WordPress plugins and themes. Ability to work collaboratively on a team. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. A strong eye for layout, typography, and responsive design.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with WooCommerce and/or custom API integrations. Familiar with using API integrations such as REST or OAuth. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG). Experience optimizing WordPress sites. Experience with WordPress page builders such as Elementor or Oxygen. Ability to use JavaScript to build interactive elements or handle AJAX requests. Understanding of version control, such as GIT. Understanding of SEO, analytics, and structured data. Using dependency management tools such as Composer or NPM. 2- or 4-year degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Graphic Design, UX/UI, or related fields Industry certifications
