Field Assistant Position Opening
Highland Water District has a full time entry-level position open for a Field Assistant.
The Field Assistant must possess sufficient skills to work safely with mechanical and electrical devices and systems, use a variety of tools safely and efficiently. Knowledge of the basic water distribution system is essential. This position requires the ability to communicate and work well with others.
The field assistant must have the ability to perform moderate to strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to:
Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
Traverse rough terrain
Work in wet conditions
Climb ladders
Work at heights or on scaffolding
Lift or carry up to 100 pounds
Work in confined spaces
Use of safety equipment
The Field Assistant must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma, GED, or a minimum of two years of utility experience in a position similar to the Field Assistant position at the District. Education credits may apply in lieu of experience. The Field Assistant must be computer literate. The Field Assistant must have a current Washington State Drivers License with a good driving record when hired. The Field Assistant must obtain a Washington State Flagger certification within 6 months of hire date and a valid Water Specialist 1 license (or higher) from the state within 1 year of hire date. There will be a mandatory drug test prior to employment.
Salary and benefits to be negotiated through the Union and will depend on experience.
