Responsibilities:
Collect and analyze security-related data (logs, alerts, threat intelligence feeds) from various sources.
Identify vulnerabilities and potential breaches, and collaborate with the cybersecurity team to recommend remediation strategies.
Gather data from various sources such as databases, APIs, and spreadsheets. Clean, validate, and organize data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, correlations, and patterns.
Utilize statistical and analytical techniques (Python, R, SQL, Excel) to extract actionable insights.
Create dashboards and visual representations using Power BI, Tableau, Splunk, or Excel to convey findings effectively.
Utilize industry best practices and methodologies to ensure high-quality delivery of data analytics solutions, leveraging tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Splunk.
Present findings to stakeholders and make recommendations based on data insights.
Support leadership in defining problems, analyzing data, and developing requirements for data analytics projects, particularly in the realm of Cyber Security Data.
Recommend and advise on organization-wide improvements, optimizations, and maintenance based on data insights derived from Cyber Security Data analysis.
Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to conduct comprehensive data analysis and drive informed decision-making.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on data sources, transformations, and processes.
Requirements:
Requires expertise in various BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Oracle Analytics Cloud) and a deep understanding of data visualization best practices to deliver impactful and user-friendly dashboards and reports. Team-oriented and can work independently.
Proven experience querying and managing large datasets in a Hadoop-based environment.
Expertise in Power BI and Tableau with a portfolio of complex, visually appealing dashboards.
Familiarity with SQL, Python (pandas, NumPy), or R for data manipulation and analysis.
Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Knowledge of Cyber Security principles, practices, and data sources.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of government procedures and protocols preferred but not required.
Proven experience (6+ years) in providing technical direction and managing data analytics projects, preferably with Cyber Security Data.
At least one recognized cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CISM, GIAC).
