Job Description - Technician, Senior Communications (000FO8) Description Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. Our services include:
Natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation, and storage;
NGL transportation, fractionation, storage, and import/export terminals;
Crude oil gathering, transportation, storage, and terminals;
Petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage, and terminals;
A marine transportation business operating primarily on U.S. inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems.
The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
Position Overview The Senior Communications Technician will provide regional telecommunications support. This role requires a highly motivated individual capable of working independently to support a wide range of communication systems across a large geographic area. Responsibilities include:
Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various communication systems such as voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, badge access, video surveillance, and satellite equipment, along with supporting infrastructure.
Assisting project teams with the implementation of project-related systems.
Managing local contractors engaged in telecommunications system installation and maintenance.
Providing support and first-level training to field operations personnel.
Serving as the first-level liaison between field operations and the IT organization.
Driving field standards and providing feedback to the communications engineering team.
Providing 24/7 on-call support.
Travel up to 50% as required.
Qualifications The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
An Associate's degree in Electronics or 7 years of equivalent experience in electronics.
FCC license preferred.
A network certification such as CCNA is a plus.
7+ years of experience in installation and/or maintenance of telecommunications systems, including wireless data, SCADA, and LAN cabling systems.
Experience with phone systems and microwave communications systems is a plus.
Ability to utilize test equipment and software to support telecommunications systems in the field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently and prioritize activities.
Effective communication skills for interaction with internal and external teams/clients.
Physical ability to work outdoors and operate a motor vehicle safely.
