Amazon is expanding AWS connectivity and is seeking talented engineers. Position Overview We are looking for a Senior System Development Engineer with experience in developing embedded software on custom hardware, including advanced FPGA SoCs. The role involves architecting, developing, and integrating scalable high-assurance embedded systems test infrastructure within AWS. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen and obtain/maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership in developing high-assurance software systems. Develop embedded software test platforms using Rust, integrating third-party libraries to verify 400G+ solutions. Create low-level drivers for ARM and RISC-V targets, Linux drivers, kernel modules, and scalable software that interoperates with AWS services. Lead design and system engineers in verification and validation of certification requirements. Conduct design meetings, review peer designs, test new technologies, and mentor junior engineers. A Day in the Life You will lead a cross-functional team of hardware and software developers, writing embedded software in Rust to interact with custom hardware. You will set standards for software testing and verification, participate in architectural discussions, and develop CI/CD pipelines for automated testing. Develop and document software components, coordinate daily with the team, and ensure high standards in development activities. Mentoring and prioritization are also key aspects of your role. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or equivalent. 2+ years of Rust experience. Experience with embedded software development. Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
