Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer located in our Bloomington, MN location. Duties and Tasks: Responsible for definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and/or FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments. Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approach. Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation. Evaluate the process flow including high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization. Create test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria. Verify test results and analyze performance. Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools. Participate in improving ASIC/FPGA organizational processes. Support the generation of technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development cycle. Contribute to research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposals and manuals, to determine feasibility. Select components and equipment based on specifications and reliability analysis. Provide leadership and/or guidance to lower-level employees. Independently determine approaches to solutions. Contribute to major programs and projects. Plan and execute project tasks related to ASIC/FPGA development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in ASIC/FPGA engineering concepts, principles, and theories. Proficient in ASIC/FPGA design principles and techniques. Understanding of ASIC/FPGA processes. Knowledge of related disciplines. Stay updated on technology trends. Awareness of business objectives and the role of engineering. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Proficient in ASIC/FPGA design tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Creative thinking ability. Ability to multi-task effectively. Ability to communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions clearly. Ability to recognize and report relevant information for sound ASIC/FPGA design. Capability to develop and promote concepts and ideas. Regular interaction with senior internal teams, project leaders, and external customers. Work under limited supervision. Salary Note: This estimate reflects the typical salary range based on experience and other factors such as geographic location. Actual pay may vary. The position remains open until filled. Salary Range: USD $125,738.00 - USD $133,000.00 per year.
