The General Construction Laborer performs a variety of manual labor tasks, foundation repair projects, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning work sites, assisting skilled workers, setting up and dismantling scaffolding, digging trenches, and operating basic hand tools.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
Concrete demo and pick up of demo concrete
Mixing grout and/or concrete
Assist in all aspects of construction work
Maintains a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job sites each day to eliminate potential hazards
Preforms material handling and storage
Load and unload trucks and hauls and hoists materials
Working from a swing stage on High- and Low-rise buildings
Have a strong commitment to safety
Ability to obtain security pass to federal job sites
Valid Driver’s License
1 year of construction experience in Masonry work and/or Deep foundation is a plus
Ownership of work
Good Communication with crew, managers and customers
Supervisor Responsibilities
The position has no supervisory responsibilities
Working conditions
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 20 – 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am through 3:30 pm, 40 hours per week or as required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
Travel
Travel to and from site and to the store as expected for work. Outer Island travel may be required depending on construction schedule
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Working knowledge of construction practices
