Position Summary:
The Server Assistant is responsible for taking orders from restaurant guests and delivering their food to them, explaining the menu, asking for food allergies and ensuring to make the best recommendations for food and drinks that WORLD SPA offers. Communicating with kitchen staff, and balancing dishes as they bring them to the appropriate table.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver food to guests quickly and efficiently.
Deliver condiments and drinks as needed (to include alcoholic beverages).
Refill beverages as needed. Respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and polite manner.
Promptly and professionally, handle guest issues and communicate problems and concerns to servers and management.
Demonstrate proper table service and full knowledge of the menu and table layout.
Support services staff with arranging tables for large parties when needed.
Pre-buss tables.
Clean and reset dirty tables.
Perform various duties to ensure health and sanitation of dining area and server alley including e.g. cleaning floors.
Maintain a clean and organized server alley and expo area.
Stock ice and glassware on the server line.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the floor manager or immediate supervisor.
Assist and communicate clearly with the kitchen staff and front of the house staff.
Skills, Abilities and Experience:
1+ Years experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
Strong knowledge of coffee, beer, wine and liquor service.
Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
Must successfully complete a restaurant training course.
Education Requirements:
Servsafe/Tips Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Pay range is: $16/Hour plus tips (applicable to NYS tip credit law).
