As a Solidworks Drafter you will excel in CAD drafting, engineering, and 3D modeling, playing a key role in the design direction and engineering methods of each project assigned to you. Your responsibilities include creating, reviewing, and distributing technical drawings and cut files for assigned projects. You will help ensure that department tasks stay on track and are prioritized according to the production schedule. Additionally, you will assist the Digital Fabrication Office with department improvements, new techniques, and standard engineering practices. You are also responsible for troubleshooting any unforeseen challenges that arise. Location: Brooklyn, NY (On-site only) Key Responsibilities

This position operates out of our facility in Brooklyn, NY - remote work is not available. Solidworks proficiency is mandatory. Detailed Description
Proficient in creating technical drawings, renderings, and cut files in CAD/3D modeling software (Solidworks proficiency mandatory, AutoCAD recommended/optional). Interpret project conception based on sketches, renderings, and/or other provided information. Create technical drawings, renderings, and 3D models according to the project budget, fabrication capabilities, finishing capabilities, and installation requirements. Exhibit keen knowledge of home building hardware, furniture hardware, cabinetry hardware, retail fixture hardware, signage, and tradeshow hardware. Exhibit keen knowledge of standard & special wood, metal, plastic-based engineered sheet goods as well as their applications, properties, dimensions, and availability. Display competence and awareness of our fabrication, finishing, CNC machining, and tooling capabilities. Maintain detail and solution-oriented throughout the entire drafting process. Strive to learn and develop a strong familiarity with basic kinetic and automation engineering, structural engineering methods, and ballast calculations. Previous Work Experience
General Contracting Carpentry Metalwork Cabinet Making Millwork Foreman CNC Programmer or Machinist Ideal Candidate
Must be detail-oriented and organized. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, understand, and produce drawings and details. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Experienced in visualizing a project through the production & installation process. Must have regular and punctual attendance. Ability to meet deadlines. Experience with one or more of the following programs is a plus: Rhino, Fusion360, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
