Digital Transformation Specialist – OT
to lead and support digital initiatives in our industrial and operational environments. This role is responsible for integrating emerging technologies with existing OT systems, improving data flow between OT and IT, and modernizing production and asset management processes. The key responsibilities of a
DT Specialist - OT
include: Drive and implement digital transformation strategies within OT environments, aligning with overall business and operations goals Analyze existing industrial systems (e.g. SCADA, PLCs, DCS) to identify opportunities for digital enhancement and integration Work closely with IT, engineering, and production teams to ensure secure and efficient convergence between IT and OT networks Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced technologies such as IoT, edge computing, predictive maintenance, and machine learning into workflows and production environments Lead or support cross-functional projects involving new technologies, system integrations, or workflow automation Lead change management efforts to support digital adoption, including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement Act as a liaison between IT, operations, and business units to ensure alignment and smooth implementation Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics to assess the success of transformation initiatives Stay informed on emerging digital trends and technologies to recommend innovative solutions and best practices Do you have what it takes?

Key skills we look for include: 5+ years of experience in Operational Technology, industrial automation, or digital transformation Solid understanding of OT systems such as PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs, sensors, industrial networks (Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus, etc.) Experience with IT/OT integration, including cloud connectivity, data platforms, and cybersecurity Familiarity with protocols like MQTT, OPC UA, and industrial Ethernet Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), CMMS, or EAM platforms Experience in project management and agile methodologies Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or comparable academic discipline Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g. CISSP ISA/IEC 62443), project management (e.g. PMP, Prosci Change Management), or Six Sigma are a plus Must have or be willing to obtain Secret Clearance (this requires US citizenship) Acceptable candidates must successfully pass a drug test and background screen At Illumination Works, we know data, and we should, we’ve been doing it since we started in 2006!
