Active Secret Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the development of flight software for the guidance electronics of advanced missile systems. This role requires hands-on experience in embedded systems programming, real-time operating systems, and hardware/software integration within high-stakes, collaborative environments. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded flight software for missile guidance electronics. Implement software in C/C++ within VxWorks real-time operating environments. Perform embedded I/O integration, ensuring optimal interface between software and hardware components. Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, and test engineers in an Agile/Scrum development environment. Utilize tools such as GitLab for configuration management and JIRA for task tracking and agile practices. Leverage Xilinx Vivado/Vitis SDK tools for embedded software development and FPGA integration. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 6+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, specifically for flight software in missile guidance systems. Strong proficiency in C/C++ and real-time embedded programming, particularly within VxWorks environments. Extensive experience with embedded I/O integration. Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative and agile teams. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with GitLab for source control and JIRA for Agile project management. Experience with Xilinx Vivado/Vitis SDK tools and workflows. Prior experience working in defense, aerospace, or missile systems development is a plus.
