QC Chemistry/Microbiology
The Associate Scientist is responsible for conducting testing and documentation of finished goods, stability, and in-process samples within the QC Chemistry/Microbiology Laboratory. This role ensures all work is performed in compliance with established GMP standards and laboratory procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Monitoring & Preparatory Work (Up to 50%) Conduct environmental monitoring and water testing. Perform calibrations and standardizations of laboratory instruments (e.g., balances, pH meters). Assist with inventory management, including stocking, receiving, and storing media/solutions. Prepare and stage solutions for testing by additional analysts. Adhere to data integrity and documentation standards. Testing, Documentation & Data Review (Up to 20%) Independently perform core analytical techniques on raw materials, finished goods, stability, and in-process samples. Execute complex testing methods with a high level of difficulty. Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and compliant before use. Laboratory Housekeeping (Up to 25%) Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory areas including benches, sinks, storage, and equipment. Clean laboratory glassware and pipettes as needed. Dispose of waste properly and maintain instruments by replacing consumables and performing routine cleaning. Ensure the lab is audit-ready at all times. Training & Development (Up to 5%) Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical skills and responsibilities. Train other analysts in specialized techniques and documentation practices. Contribute to or lead laboratory projects and propose solutions to technical challenges. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Experience: Experience in a Quality Control Laboratory within a GMP pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
