The IRC is expanding its Home Study and Post-Release Services (HSPRS) program for unaccompanied children in the U.S., from six current offices to over 17 locations nationwide. The
HSPRS Program
has two main goals: Home Study (HS):
Assess the safety and suitability of a sponsor before an unaccompanied child is released from custody into a sponsor's care. Post-Release Services (PRS):
Provide case management support through remote and/or in-home visits to ensure ongoing safety and stability of children and connect them to community resources. We are hiring for various roles across the U.S., including Casework Supervisors, Senior Caseworkers, Crisis Case Managers, and others. About the Roles Casework Supervisor (HSPRS) Supervises and supports Caseworkers (Level 1) and Senior Caseworkers (Level 2). Ensures quality case management through coaching, documentation review, and policy adherence. Handles complex cases involving child welfare concerns, liaising with law enforcement and service providers. Conducts data monitoring and reporting to assess program impact and inform decisions. Builds community partnerships to strengthen referral networks and support services. Senior Caseworker (HSPRS) Manages caseloads of unaccompanied children and their sponsors, ensuring safety and stability. Conducts home visits and virtual check-ins, linking children to medical, educational, and mental health resources. Collaborates with service providers to ensure children receive necessary care and legal assistance. Documents case progress accurately in databases, ensuring compliance with federal regulations. Supports crisis intervention efforts and assists with complex cases as needed. Crisis Case Manager (Level 3) Provides intensive, trauma-informed case management for children facing significant challenges such as safety risks, trafficking concerns, or severe mental health needs. Conducts home studies to assess potential sponsors and ensure safe placements. Provides direct support to children and sponsors, including assessments and weekly visits. Develops individualized service plans, connecting children to legal, medical, and educational resources. Maintains case documentation and collaborates with social service providers. Qualifications Vary by Role: Casework Supervisor:
Master's in behavioral sciences, social work, or related field (or Bachelor's + 3 years of case management experience); 1+ year supervisory experience required. Senior Caseworker:
Bachelor's in social work or related field + 2 years of case management experience and fluency in Spanish. Crisis Case Managers:
Master's in social work, psychology, or related behavioral science field (clinical experience required), + 2 years of case management experience and fluency in Spanish. We are accepting applications!
