Job Description
Seeking a career-minded, highly-motivated, technical professional to serve as an Electronic Calibration Technician to perform onsite and in-house calibration on a variety of test equipment.
The Electronic Calibration Technician I will apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in the Electrical-DC/Low Frequency, and Time & Frequency disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy.

Skills and Requirements
Minimum of 1-2 years prior experience in calibration of some of the equipment listed below is required
Experienced and aware of ISO 9000 and/or ISO 17025 quality assurance program desired
Must have a valid driver's license
Strong computer and math skills
Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel Proficient in customer service skills
Proficient math skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted from ground to bench level
Candidate MUST be willing to travel to local and regional on-site locations
MUST Pass entrance exam (see Application Process below)
Education
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in electronic calibration
Bachelor or Associate degree in electronics
Military service in electronics fieldhighly regarded
Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex calibrations on test, measurement and diagnostic equipment in our laboratory (20%) and at our client's facility (80%).
Read and understand specifications/tolerances of equipment
Understand the daily application of our quality system and quality standards
Good knowledge of the laboratorys Scope of Accreditation
Understand the usage of available Calibration Spreadsheets
Complete all assigned quality assurance training and required readings
Promptly addresses customer requests and inquiries taking actions as appropriate to satisfy the customer
Perform assigned equipment maintenance and participate in internal audits, annual laboratory assessments and proficiency testing
Perform calibration in accordance with calibration procedures to meet the needs of the customer
Willing to learn how to write and submit calibration procedures
Complete all work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining a 2% or less QC Error rate on completed work orders
Continually pursue technical proficiency through various means such as self-study and internal training programs
Ensure customer satisfaction through timely turn-around on all equipment by actively reviewing, projecting and planning of workload
Maintain an exemplary laboratory cleanliness through daily routine cleaning of lab spaces and workstations

This list is not all inclusive. We provide training on equipment you have not calibrated before. Opportunities exist for candidates who are interested in cross-training into other types of calibrations such as dimensional, chemical and thermodynamics.
Physical Demands
Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of email, phone, and Slack for communications is essential.
Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for conversations, receiving information, and preparing or inspecting documents and calibration activities.
Ability to remain semistationary at a bench, as well as the ability to move about the laboratory and customer spaces.
Must be able to tolerate environments at client facilities which may include heat, cold, and noise-levels. Some onsite facilities may require personal safety equipment such as hearing and eye protection, steel-toe boots, and splash aprons.
Traveling to our clients may require extended drive times.
Reports To
Calibration Technician I reports directly to the Laboratory Manager.
Career Based
Technicians have the ability and are encouraged to advance up the technician ranks. We currently have four levels of technicians. They include Associate Calibration Technician, Calibration Technician I, Calibration Technician II, Calibration Technician III.
e-Learning Program
Cal Lab has a fully integrated e-Learning program. We promote the Gamification process with our e-Learning to bring your assigned courses to life with Badges, Points, Levels, Rewards and Leaderboards. A full catalog is available to all staff members to encourage self-motivated course selection by staff members instead of strictly relying on course assignments. If staff members are interested in learning new skills, tasks or equipment calibrations, they are encouraged to subscribe to the course and start their training.
