We are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Director of Sales (DOS)
to lead the sales strategy for our upscale, recently launched hotel – Downright Austin, a
Renaissance Hotel.
Located near the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Capitol, this 367-room property features over 40,000 square feet of versatile event space, offering an ideal setting for meetings, conferences, and social gatherings.
As the DOS, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by leading a high-performing sales team, cultivating strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and executing strategic sales and marketing plans. We are looking for a sales leader with a full-service hotel background, a passion for coaching and mentoring teams, and a keen ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
Salary Range:
$155,000 - $175,000
Plus $10,000 Sign-on Bonus
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and develop the sales and marketing team to exceed revenue targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, local businesses, university contacts, and hotel ownership. Develop and implement innovative strategies to attract group, corporate, leisure, and catering business. Cultivating Business Travel relationships. Analyze market trends, performance data, and competitor insights to identify opportunities for growth. Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to increase brand awareness.
Ideal Candidate
Proven track record of coaching and mentoring sales teams in full-service hotels. Prior Marriott sales management experience. Strong business development skills with the ability to close deals and drive performance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
