nPrimary Objective:
nThe Process Control Engineer plays a critical role in improving production and warehouse operations across Lindsay Windows’ regional locations. This hands-on position will lead and implement process improvement projects with measurable outcomes, focusing on streamlining production lines, enhancing product quality, improving material flow, and optimizing finished goods storage and delivery.
nThe ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills and a passion for continuous improvement. Approximately 80% of the role will be spent on the production floor, working directly with staff to identify opportunities, implement changes, and support sustainable improvements. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot issues, support automation projects, and drive process improvements.
nKey Responsibilities:
nAnalyze production data, including downtime, scrap, and cycle times, to identify and prioritize areas for improvement in productivity, quality, material flow, and safety.
nConduct process evaluations using lean tools such as operator cycle time studies, spaghetti diagrams, and value stream mapping.
nDevelop, document, and refine processes to enhance the manufacturing of Lindsay Windows products.
nCollaborate with cross-functional teams and department leads to implement and sustain operational improvements.
nDeliver training and support to production staff on new processes and equipment.
nProvide feedback to the Automation Team regarding the development, installation, and utilization of new equipment.
nLead follow-up efforts to ensure long-term adoption of process changes, including meetings, audits, and training sessions.
nQualifications: Education & Experience:
nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
n2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
n3–5 years of demonstrated technical independence in process improvement, preferably in a similar role.
nSkills & Competencies:
nStrong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
nProven experience leading hands-on improvement projects in production and/or warehouse settings.
nExcellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
nEffective project management and time-management abilities.
nWillingness and ability to travel approximately 30%–40% to support regional operations.
nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
nAttention to detail and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
nAdditional Details:
nTravel is planned and coordinated with site leadership in advance.
nThis position is based in Aurora, IL, but may be open to other locations for the right candidate.
