(“SEL”) family of companies, seeks professional, innovative and detailed individuals for our Project Engineer – Design position located at our Charlotte, North Carolina field office. Project Engineer - Design (Multiple Openings) Responsibilities: The
Project Engineer—Design
is required to possess, understand, and apply the electrical engineering fundamental concepts, principles, practices, and procedures of electric power system design. The incumbent will be expected to apply the principles of electrical engineering to: (1) analyze technical specifications and create detailed physical and electrical designs, bill of materials, and job estimates; (2) train and assist customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of electric power systems; (3) develop and maintain strong working knowledge of SEL’s power systems and related SEL products; (4) assign, complete, and implement assigned work within agreed-upon scope, schedule, and budget to a high level of quality and safety; (5) assist in the identification, preparation, and presentation of successful proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems; (6) participate in the preparation of functional design specifications; (7) prepare and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables; (8) provide support for other company marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities; and (9) continuously identify, measure, and improve company engineering processes. TRAVEL: These full-time positions will be based out of SEL-ES’s Charlotte, North Carolina field office. However, because the company has numerous customers nationwide, some travel is required, as the incumbent will occasionally and on a short-term basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.
