HDR is looking for a Rail Transit Coordinator/EIT to join our Southern California Transportation group to support the design and/or planning of public transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working on rail transit project in Southern California. The successful candidate shall demonstrate basic knowledge of applicable federal, state and local standard and requirements and has an understanding of project delivery processes for various phases of project development from conceptual design to design support during construction. In the role of Rail Transit Coordinator/EIT, we’ll count on you to: Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including site layout, drainage, grading, and utilities tasks Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression Experience with InRoads/InRail, OpenRail Designer, and/or Civil3D Experience with 3D modeling 2+ years of experience in rail/transportation design Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously Local candidates preferred Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads and GEOPAK-route design MS Office Applications experience Strong interest in railroad design An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
