Your role We are seeking an experienced Data Protection (Privacy) Senior Analyst to join our organization. The IT function at Digital Realty takes responsibility to manage and secure some of the world’s most critical infrastructure on behalf of our customers. The Data Protection (Privacy) Senior Analyst will be a detail-oriented, self-driven, and forward-thinking individual who is well-versed in implementing and maintaining Data Protection policies and procedures, monitoring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, analyzing privacy & security risks, and supporting the IT Data Protection / Privacy maturity efforts. The candidate will work closely with existing Privacy and Data Governance Programs. What you’ll do Collaborate with Privacy, Data Governance, and other business functions to drive Data Protection requirements. Perform privacy impact assessments (PIA) and data mapping activities. Ensure the successful execution of IT data protection goals and the ongoing operation of DLR’s IT Data Protection objectives. Implement privacy policies and procedures across the organization and guide business process adherence. Evaluate and identify gaps in compliance, and develop strategies to address them. Identify and report privacy risks, supporting mitigation strategies. Support Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) within the IT organization. Assist in developing and maintaining data protection policies and SOPs. Ensure business initiatives comply with regulations, policies, and procedures. Participate in projects to align business practices with privacy programs and regulatory requirements. Facilitate privacy and data protection awareness discussions with the business. Stay updated on global privacy regulations and standards, and monitor technological advancements. Develop and implement metrics and dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of the data protection program. Perform other duties as assigned. What you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, Data Science, or related fields. 4+ years of experience in Data Protection, Privacy, or Cybersecurity roles focused on data protection. Experience with frameworks like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOX, NIST CSF, etc., and supporting audits. Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA). Experience handling Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs). Experience integrating privacy into system design and recommending technical protections. Experience with privacy training and compliance activities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to foster a data protection and privacy culture with a risk management approach. Strong project management, multitasking, and organizational skills. Relevant certifications such as CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, CDPSE are highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other tools. Understanding of global privacy laws and frameworks. Experience with tools like OneTrust, WireWheel, BigID, etc., is preferred. Ability to communicate complex privacy issues effectively across organizational levels. Understanding of risk management, compliance programs, and corporate communications. Background in data privacy, governance, risk, compliance, or information security operations. Proactive with the ability to work independently. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong technology background and research skills. Knowledge of data security in cloud environments is a plus.
