A very kind, high-profile, professional athlete family is seeking a full-time live-out nanny for their 3 school-aged children. The children are 11, 8, and almost 5. They have enjoyed having a close family member care for their children throughout the years and this is the first time they are hiring a nanny who is not a family member, so they want to find an awesome fit.
The nanny must be flexible with the schedule, generally working 40-50 hours a week, mainly after school from 2pm-7pm, or some evenings until midnight if it is a game night. They will need some overnights (2-3 days a month) when the parents are out of town, and the nanny will be expected to be full-charge then. The days will be Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends required. Being flexible is key for this position; only candidates who understand this will be considered.
The qualities sought in the nanny include being nurturing but firm (especially for the youngest child), genuinely caring about creating ease in the family's life, and being comfortable tidying up the kitchen at the end of the night. The nanny should be helpful, great with schedule management, and efficient in taking the children to/from activities (must have a driver's license with a clean driving record; the family will provide a car for use while working). The nanny will oversee the eldest child when she wants to cook/bake, helping to maintain structure and timeliness in her cooking/baking goals. Awareness of screen time and the ability to limit it when necessary is also important. There may be some homework oversight with the youngest, but the older children are self-sufficient and may just occasionally have questions. There is no laundry to do for this role, but there is occasional cooking for the children.
There won't be much travel involved. When the parents travel, it’s typically for work, and the children are home so they don’t miss out on school or extracurricular activities. There may be one or two trips per year to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where the parents might ask the nanny to accompany them for dinner outings. The family has 2 Goldendoodle dogs, so the nanny must be comfortable with dogs. The candidate does not need to be COVID vaccinated. The family is open to relocating a candidate for this role; they just want the best fit.
The family is offering an annual salary of $100k-125k, plus housing off property that they will provide.
You must be TrustLine certified (California law), legal to work in the US, and have a US Passport, Green card, or EAC to apply for this role. If you are interested in this position, please apply to HN153.
