Job Description Technical Support Specialist – IDS GeoRadar This is a Hybrid position based in Lakewood, CO that requires regular travel. Position Summary Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot IDS GeoRadar IBIS ground-based radar systems that track slope stability for mining and civil-engineering customers. Provide hands-on training and 24/7 technical support to ensure safe, reliable system performance. Key Responsibilities Field Service Install, configure, maintain, and decommission IBIS radar systems and ancillary hardware. Perform routine inspections, firmware/software upgrades, and on-site repairs. Service small diesel generators and electric jack systems. Identify and repair electrical, mechanical, networking, and software faults. Log all case details in Salesforce; write clear service and incident reports. Manage spare parts stock; prepare and track shipments to and from customer sites or the factory. Customer Support & Training Deliver on-site and remote training for hardware, software, and data analysis. Participate in a scheduled 24/7 on-call rotation to diagnose and resolve issues via phone, email, or remote access. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Escalate recurring issues; help develop troubleshooting guides & training materials. Collaborate with other divisions to improve processes. Office-based Tasks Test, diagnose, and repair faulty equipment and components returned from customer sites. Perform functional testing on repaired components prior to shipment. Maintain accurate repair and testing records in Salesforce and other tracking systems. Assist with inventory management, including tracking repaired components and ensuring stock accuracy. Required Qualifications Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, automotive, industrial automation, geoscience, or related fields. At least 2 years in field service, equipment repair, or similar technical support roles. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, IT/network connectivity, and Windows-based software. Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. Experience with small diesel engines for diagnostics and repairs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Soft Skills Strong communication and customer service skills. Independent problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Work & Travel Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and travel ≥ 50%—often on short notice, weekends, or holidays. Licenses Valid driver’s license (ability to tow a utility trailer) and passport. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of structural geology and slope movement analysis. Network configuration and troubleshooting expertise. Experience with small diesel engine maintenance. Knowledge of CRM platforms. OSHA or MSHA certification. One year of experience in the mining industry. Experience with towing utility trailers. Work Environment Active mine sites and remote locations with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Office hours Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00 when not on site. Occasional overseas travel for training or projects. What you can expect Starting salary range – $65,000 to $70,000 USD + bonuses.
