Transportation Engineer Trainee (40 Hour) Land Surveyor

Professional growth and development opportunities Join an award winning agency! CTDOT was recently awarded theEmployer of the Yearaward by theConnecticut Society of Civil Engineers(CSCE )! POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Full Time, 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday. First Shift, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required and must be maintained. The District 1 Surveys section performs various types of land surveying, including topographic mapping, boundary and construction surveys. The Transportation Engineer Trainee (Land Surveyor) will learn to: Operate survey field instruments, such as conventional and robotic Total Stations, Auto and Digital Levels, GPS receivers. Use surveying software to perform complex computations. UseMicrostation/Bentley OpenRoads CADD (computer aided design and drafting) to prepare, revise and edit land surveys for mapping. Develop topographic mapping and DTM’s (Digital Terrain Models) for future Highway and Railroad construction projects and support ongoing construction projects. Perform related duties as required. The ideal Transportation Engineer Trainee (Land Surveyor) will: Possess general knowledge of land surveying and transportation. Have experience with construction engineering theories, principles, and methods. Be skilled in computer aided design software (MicroStation· preferred) and other computer. applications including Word and Excel. Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Possess organizational and interpersonal skills. Possess the ability to read and analyze construction plans and estimates. Please list your Driver's license number, expiration date, and issuing State, Engineer in Training license number (if applicable) and any other job-relevant licenses or certifications you hold, in the Licenses and Professional Certifications section of your application.
