Work area: Country: US Entry level: Professionals Type of contract: Full time The Autonomy Software Developer collaborates closely with Engineers, Designers, and other engineering personnel to design, write, and debug software for embedded systems, components, and support tools used in large mining haul trucks. This role involves performing complex assignments that require initiative, resourcefulness, and technical expertise, analyzing products to resolve design issues, and providing guidance across departments to ensure comprehensive engineering documentation. The Software Developer is responsible for ensuring that products meet cost targets, technical specifications, and project timelines. Responsibilities

Software Developer 1: Collaborate with Engineers and software developers to create algorithms, software, and documentation for mining haul trucks and support tools. Work with Control Engineers to investigate, test, and select software tools and hardware components such as PLCs, mobile computers, and touch screens. Assist in testing and evaluating vendor products. Work independently and with teams on various projects. Design, install, test, analyze, and maintain software controlling electrical systems and equipment. Participate in Engineering Development Programs. Software Developer 2: All duties of Developer 1 plus; Develop algorithms and software for controlling haul truck functions. Research and analyze customer proposals, specifications, and manuals. Consult with Engineers to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, and provide technical support. Software Developer 3: All duties of Developer 2 plus; Serve as System Subject Matter Expert on processes and procedures. Participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations. Coordinate with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and other teams to define software requirements. Create software design and architecture documentation. Review and improve software lifecycle processes. Software Developer 4 (Senior): All duties of Developer 3 plus; Mentor and lead junior developers and personnel. Be a System Expert on processes, microprocessors, and control systems. Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations. Lead teams in an agile/scrum environment. Research and develop solutions to meet system specifications. Design software architecture for stable operating systems. Evaluate programming and configuration tools. Monitor projects and report on progress. Estimate development time and costs. Work with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and other teams to define control system software requirements. Education and Experience

Developer 1:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or an Associate’s with 2 years of experience. Developer 2:

Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of programming experience in an engineering setting. Developer 3:

Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience. Senior Developer:

Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience. Skills and Knowledge

Developers 1 & 2: Knowledge of embedded programming tools (e.g., CoDeSys), Visual Studio, version control (Git, SVN), Agile/Scrum, communication protocols, and ability to interpret technical documents. Developers 3 & 4: Experience with Agile/Scrum, diagnostic tools, writing software specifications, and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project). Additional Requirements

Willingness to travel up to 20% nationally and internationally. Ability to obtain mine safety certifications and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport. Our Offer
