The Outside Loan Officer's primary role is to source, qualify, and originate mortgage loans by working primarily outside the company's offices to solicit and obtain business from referral sources such as realtors, builders, financial service providers, and others, as well as directly from borrowers. Responsibilities
Comply with outside sales and reporting obligations, duties, requirements, and guidelines. Produce loans according to targets set by the manager. Uphold the integrity of the brand. Be familiar with originating loans. Properly qualify consumers and issue pre-approvals according to guidelines. Monitor the loan pipeline through Lenders Office. Monitor productivity via reporting tools. Ensure compliance with all government and regulatory requirements. Determine your own working hours; there are no specific hour requirements. Gather information from prospective borrowers and complete the loan application form. Set yearly goals and attend meetings with the manager. Educate and communicate regularly with borrowers, listing brokers, and selling brokers. Analyze income and debt to pre-qualify borrowers and determine maximum affordable mortgage amounts. Educate borrowers about home buying and financing options, including different loan products, closing costs, and payments. Maintain contact with borrowers, realtors, and the company during the application process. Collect financial documents such as tax returns and bank statements. Order credit reports when required. Determine if the property is in a flood zone when necessary. Attend mortgage closings if requested. Ensure compensation does not exceed negotiated amounts. Adhere to policies outlined in the company handbook. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements
Must have a current NMLS license in good standing. Knowledge of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, and VA guidelines. At least two years of mortgage or mortgage banking experience. Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results. Proven sales success. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance. Sound judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to develop and maintain relationships within the real estate community. Timely communication according to department standards. Physical/Sensory Requirements
Ability to lift 25 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and stretch as needed. Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or ambulating. Use of computers, phones, and office equipment. Fluency in English; second language is a plus. Additional Information
