Bowman has an opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our team in Williamsburg, VA or Fairfax, VA. Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction: Receive broad guidance from senior-level management regarding overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy matters, and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance. Operational and Company Level: Assist with marketing the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients; coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements. Do the Work: Perform project development for complex projects, including finalizing scope, preparing bid summaries, and preparing project budgets and cost estimates; prepare and direct designs, specifications, plans, estimates and reports; review job cost sheets and prepare monthly billings; ensure projects stay within budget; monitor and manage work in progress, billings, and accounts receivable collection. Client and project management: Maintain healthy client relationships and provide operational insight for driving projects and delivering results; liaise with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams; resolve project questions including technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries. Design and execution: Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for assigned phases of large land/site development and/or civil engineering work; supervise project personnel to meet high professional standards; review project changes and additional work requests that may affect staffing or budget. Marketing and business development: Assist with marketing presentations and attend marketing meetings; assist the team leader in securing repeat business and identifying new clients. Technical problem solving: Provide technical assistance in the resolution of design problems including field investigations, detailed design work, review of computations, and coordination of design aspects. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, land surveying, planning, or related discipline required at time of employment. Seven or more (7+) years of experience within the A/E industry including project management experience. Registered professional in the field of expertise. Thorough understanding of business and financial principles in a consulting business as well as municipal codes and regulations. A proven track record of innovation, leadership, and creativity.
