Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) Responsible for providing analysis and support to senior management; primary focus on financial analysis and communications for Champion and NAP activities. Will assess the financial impact of key business decisions. Will develop a variety of analytical frameworks to provide insight into operational opportunities and challenges aimed at improving the financial performance of the retail organization. Reconcile, analyze, and review income statements in preparation for month end close, specifically as it pertains to gross margin calculations. Maintains favorable relationships with analysts; coordinates with accounting, supply teams, Calpine FP&A and other internal departments in order to present accurate and consistent messages to management. May be asked to research economic and industry trends and provides market research and analytical support for executive management. Job Responsibilities Compiles and analyzes financial information; conducts special financial studies and remains current of industry trends Possesses skills to forecast and analyze financial activity Demonstrates advanced applied experience in spotting business trends Applies advanced skills contributing to knowledge areas within function, but not yet an expert in all Makes recommendations on moderately complex issues regarding project components and tasks May make recommendations on new processes, tools, and services; supports and contributes to development of new products, services, or techniques Works on problems of diverse scope ranging from moderate to complex Makes decisions requiring discretion independent judgment to perform in-depth analysis of variable factors Collaborates with other analysts in or outside own department in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach Requires little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments Serves as project/technical lead on small to medium sized projects; may coordinate work of professionals, technicians, and others outside of own department Serves as resource integrator –builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to achieve goals Regularly contributes actionable ideas in brainstorming and planning sessions Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with a minimum of 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
