Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning before patient studies. Injects patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following prescribed protocols. Maintains all department documentation, logs, manuals, charge documents, and reports equipment problems to comply with regulatory standards. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle. Maintains and develops patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Verifies proper receipt and activity level of radiopharmaceuticals upon delivery. Requirements
Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist. ARRT certification in Radiography and CT. BLS certification. At least 1 year of CT experience. Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program. Injection certification. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
