Job Summary Provide Speech-Language Pathology diagnostic and therapeutic services to clients in various clinical settings.
Responsibilities Provides Diagnostic Services
Requires 5% or less supervision, demonstrating strong diagnostic skills in at least three of the following areas: Adult speech-language, Pediatric speech-language, Voice, Dysphagia (adult or pediatric), and others such as CF, LLD, MBS, FEESST, video-stroboscopy, fluency, augmentative communication.
Shows proficiency in more than three areas with supervision as noted, selecting and interpreting appropriate testing materials, and pursuing updated knowledge and research in assessment tools.
Provides Treatment Services
Requires 5% or less supervision, demonstrating strong treatment skills in at least three of the clinical areas listed above, selecting appropriate therapy materials, and staying updated on treatment techniques.
Designs therapy around patient interests, ensuring engaging and functional activities.
Documentation
Evaluation documentation includes problem discussion, results, and recommendations; interprets results clearly; and is thorough and timely.
Departmental documentation (productivity forms, charge sheets, etc.) is accurate and completed timely.
Effective Communication
Reports findings clearly, uses varied communication methods, and educates patients and caregivers to facilitate skill carryover.
Efficiency and Productivity
Maintains at least 50% productivity, communicates schedule changes proactively, and offers coverage as appropriate.
Teamwork
Identifies challenges, seeks support, suggests process improvements, and participates in outreach activities.
Qualifications/Requirements
Preferred: Experience in speech-language pathology and CCC from ASHA.
Education: Master’s degree in speech-language pathology or equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications: NYS License, NYS Ed TSSLD certification or TSHH.
Other: Knowledge of infection control, own transportation, excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
